Founder and Owner, Aja Salvatore:
Aja began traveling to West Africa, specifically Mali, seven years ago. Originally drawn to the country for its rich musical tradition, he was deeply moved by the Malians creating heartfelt music in the difficult living conditions of West Africa. From one of the poorest and most polluted countries, incredible, hopeful and inspiring music is made. He began recording these incredible and virtually unknown artists, and began a fair-trade recording label with the intention of putting money in the pockets of artists and music in the hands of the people. Aja quickly realized that not only did the world need to hear the music of Mali but people needed to see the musicians themselves share their powerful music and stories.
